Deep Foundation

A deep foundation is distinguished from shallow foundations by the depth they are embedded. There are many factors that contribute to why a geotechnical engineer would recommend a deep foundation over shallow, but the most common are, very large design loads, poor soils at shallow depth, and site constraints (tight property lines) that would prohibit shallow foundation construction. Driven piles are the most storied and trusted conventional deep foundations systems.
