Roderick Daniels Jr. made a significant impact on the football field during his time at SMU. Known for his explosive speed and versatility, Daniels played in all 14 games of his junior season in 2023, starting one. He caught 24 passes for 370 yards and had four receiving touchdowns. His season highlights included a career-high 96 yards receiving in a game, a 67-yard return at Temple, and a thrilling 91-yard touchdown reception at Prairie A&M. Daniels also contributed as a halfback with 15 carries, showcasing his adaptability. On special teams, he returned punts and kickoffs, totaling 24 punt returns for 257 yards and a touchdown and nine kickoff returns for 212 yards, averaging 23.6 yards per return. He led the team with nine punt returns for 104 yards and added a kick return for 24 yards. His all-purpose yards totaled 473, ranking him among the top contributors on the team.
In his freshman year (2021), Daniels made an immediate impact, registering 17 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown, while also adding a solo tackle. His well-rounded skill set and ability to make plays in various facets of the game solidified his reputation as one of the most promising young talents at SMU.

Matt Cross, a versatile forward from Beverly, Massachusetts, has established himself as a consistent and impactful player throughout his collegiate basketball journey. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 230 pounds, Cross has demonstrated his ability to contribute on both ends of the court across multiple programs.
As a freshman at Miami (2020–2021), Cross appeared in 14 games, starting nine, and averaged 6.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He set Miami's ACC-era freshman three-point percentage record, shooting 40% from beyond the arc. Notable performances include scoring 16 points against both Louisville and No. 24 Virginia Tech.
In his sophomore year at Louisville (2021–2022), Cross played in 30 games, starting nine, and averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds against North Carolina.
As a junior at UMass (2022–2023), Cross led the team in rebounding with 6.3 boards per game and averaged 12.2 points per contest. He achieved multiple double-doubles, including a career-high 28 points against Davidson and 14 rebounds in a win over Murray State. He also earned Myrtle Beach Invitational All-Tournament Team and HOF Invitational MVP honors.
In his senior year at UMass (2023–2024), Cross earned Atlantic 10 First-Team honors, averaging 15.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 54% from the field and 79.8% from the free-throw line. Highlights include tying a program record with eight steals against Siena, a career-high 31-point outing versus CCSU, and a 16-point, 16-rebound double-double against Harvard.

Rashee Rice is a dynamic and dominant wide receiver who left a lasting mark on SMU's football program during his college career. A three-year starter for the Mustangs, Rice put together an exceptional senior season in 2022, leading the FBS in receiving yards per game (112.9) and finishing with 1,355 receiving yards, ranking 3rd nationally. His 8.0 receptions per game placed him in the top five, and his 10 receiving touchdowns tied for 13th in the nation. Rice posted six 100-yard games and three multi-touchdown performances in 2022, including a career-high 193 yards at Maryland and 13 receptions at Memphis.
Rice’s senior season solidified his place in SMU history, as he set the program's single-season receiving yards record. His performances earned him numerous accolades, including AP All-America Second Team, Pro Football Focus Second-Team All-American, and recognition as a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, affirming his status as one of the top wide receivers in the country.
Throughout his career, Rice consistently proved to be a key weapon in SMU’s offense, ranking among the nation's leaders in receptions, yards, and touchdowns in both 2021 and 2022. His versatility and ability to make plays in critical moments were key to his success, as he demonstrated in several high-profile games throughout his career.
Professional Career:
After his standout college career, Rice was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round (55th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact in his rookie season, setting Chiefs rookie records for receiving touchdowns (7) and receptions (79), and recording the second-most receiving yards by a rookie in Chiefs history (938), trailing only Dwayne Bowe. Rice's contributions were instrumental in the Chiefs' successful season, culminating in a Super Bowl victory.

Kendric Davis, a dynamic guard from Houston, Texas, made a significant impact in college basketball, showcasing his talents across multiple programs. Beginning his collegiate career at TCU, Davis transferred to SMU, where he became a standout player in the American Athletic Conference (AAC), and later played for the University of Memphis.
As a freshman at TCU (2018–2019), Davis participated in all 37 games, starting two, and averaged 6.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. His season highlights included a season-high 22 points against No. 17 Iowa State and 16 points against No. 14 Kansas.
In his sophomore season at SMU (2019–2020), Davis immediately made an impact, starting all 26 games. He averaged 14.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game, leading the AAC in assists. His junior year (2020–2021) saw continued excellence, as he averaged 19.0 points and 7.6 assists per game, leading the AAC in both categories and earning First-Team All-AAC honors.
As a senior at SMU (2021–2022), Davis solidified his reputation as one of the conference’s best players, averaging 19.4 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He led the AAC in scoring and posted standout performances, including 30-point games against Washington State and Memphis. Davis’ stellar season earned him back-to-back AAC Player of the Year honors and multiple All-America recognitions.
In his graduate season at Memphis (2022–2023), Davis continued to excel, averaging 21.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He led Memphis to an AAC Tournament Championship, earning the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award for his contributions.
